Izzy specialises in applying the therapeutic aspects of yoga, both in her drop-in and private classes. A private class is perfect for you if you’d prefer 1-1 attention and a practice designed to your specific needs.

Private classes are designed especially for your needs, whether it be to learn the basics, work on a therapeutic issue, because a group class doesn’t appeal, or to help you take your practice to a more advanced level. Benefit from a personalised class & bespoke yoga nidra ( guided relaxation) recording to take home with you, so you can continue the beneficial practices in your own time.

What is Yoga Therapy?

Yoga therapy applies simple techniques clinically proven to calm, balance & up-lift your body & mind. In today’s busy times, stress is a common and can be a cause of not only psychological, but physical tension, imbalance or disease. Learning something as easy as controlled, slow breathing can become a valuable tool for finding our way back to equilibrium, and can be easily incorporated in to your daily routine.

Yoga itself is a process of ‘normailisation’. This means that the practice of yoga helps to bring you back to your natural state of health and equilibrium from every physical or psychological complaint. In today’s busy and often stressful times, yoga can provide a state of balance, peace, tranquility, and positivity, whilst avoiding the unfortunate side effects of many modern medicines. With yoga we are able to reach the root cause of a disease, rather than considering and treating the symptoms only. When specific practices are chosen for an individual’s needs, this is known as Yoga Therapy.

 Yogic practices for healing and the prevention of disease include;

Asana (physical postures) for strong and healthy body systems.

Pranayama (yogic breathing) for increasing energy.

Mantra (chanting) for positive and focused mind training.

Cleansing processes to prevent and clear energetic blockages.

Meditation for a balanced mind.

Yoga nidra (yogic sleep/ guided relaxation) for stress relief.

Modifications to diet and lifestyle.

These are just some of the many wonderful yogic techniques, which can be used to reach and maintain a state of health and vitality.
