Acupuncture with Laura McGeary
Appointments available on Tuesday mornings and Wednesday mornings.
Acupuncture service using western evidence-based practice, with traditional chinese methods. Acupuncture can be used on its own, or combined with other physiotherapy treatments. This can help reduce pain and inflammation by releasing healing and pain relieving chemicals around the body. There are also many other uses for acupuncture, including muscle relaxation, stress management, and energy and mood balance.
Acupuncture with Evonne Prince

Evonne has been practising acupuncture for over fourteen years now and finds it an excellent adjunct to her manual physiotherapy skills. She mostly uses needling as a secondary method to releasing soft tissue (dry needling) by inserting needles into trigger points that she has previously worked on. When muscles and/or myofascial (connective tissue) is tight and restricted it causes pain, acupuncture can stimulate the bodies own pain relieving chemicals (endorphins) to the area and assist in the healing of structure as well as encouraging a “letting go” affect which can also relieve the pain. It should be noted that not all patients are suitable candidates for acupuncture and some conditions may be contraindicated.
