Renee is a Person-Centred trained counsellor and this means that she will listen to you with acceptance, empathy and understanding. Renee has the utmost respect for your unique reality and will work at your pace. She won’t approach you with a strategy or apply techniques in an attempt to fix you: rather Renee will support your personal exploration of what hurts and how you can heal. Talking with a trained therapist helps to create resilience and renew confidence in your ability and resources. Counselling can bring clarity, increase self-esteem and fosters new ways of being you. This, along with the relationship between therapist and client, brings healing.
Reaching out for help and support is an important first step and from Renee’s own experience she knows how important it is to find the right therapist. The first thing you would do with Renee is to organise an initial session that gives the opportunity to meet and talk about what brings you to therapy and to answer any questions or concerns you may have. Importantly, it is a chance to see if it feels right for the two of you to work together.
